Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, but with an international upbringing across many continents, Ina's love of design began during a school exchange in Yogyakarta where she learnt traditional Indonesian arts and crafts. From there, she graduated from the Istituto Europeo di Design followed by obtaining a Masters Degree of Arts in Design from Domus Academy Milan. She started her career in Milan, Italy before moving to Hawaii to create renowned hospitality spaces with Peter Vincent & Associates. While working as the lead interior designer on the Park Shore Waikiki Hotel in 2005, owned by the Blackstone Group, she was subsequently asked in 2006 to join this Private Equity firm as a design consultant for their own luxury hotel brand, LXR Luxury Resorts.
After establishing her office in San Francisco in 2006, she returned to Zurich in 2008, opening Ina Rinderknecht Interior Architecture on her home turf. Over the last years, a vast range of high profile hotels ranging from 3- to 5-stars, located in the US, the Caribbean and Europe and international high-end residences diversified her portfolio. Due to her international upbringing, the idea of merging the fields of design and travel made it quickly clear that leisure design, such as hotels and restaurants, would become her passion. Ina also works for a select group of global clientele on their private residences.
