Designed by Arik Levy for Swarovski Crystal Palace, the Osmosis collection illustrates the diverse ways in which Swarovski crystals can be used in design with innovative yarns, techniques and technologies. Arik blends shiny fibers to create a bridge between the crystals and textiles. Artist, technician, photographer, designer and video artist, Levy took advantage of the high calibre, industry-leading technologies offered by Tai Ping to mix sculpting and shiny fibres to create a bridge between the crystals and the rugs. The effect is striking as it manifests itself into a two-dimensional and three-dimensional experience. The integration of Tai Ping rugs throughout the Swarovski Crystal Palace exhibition was a bold feature of the overall environment.
According to Arik Levy, “Creation is an uncontrolled muscle”. Artist, technician, photographer, designer and video artist, Levy’s skills are multi-disciplinary. Levy is consistently the designer of choice for luxury brands such as Baccarat, Vitra, Ligne Roset, Lanvin and Boucheron, and his work can be seen in prestigious galleries and museums worldwide. The Osmosis collection explores the transition of crystal from its real existence to a virtual one through handmade rugs. The collection illustrates the diverse ways in which Swarovski crystal can be used in design with innovative yarns, techniques and technologies offered by Tai Ping.
